Diversity of Orthoptera From Marai Parai and Nunuk, Kinabalu Park, Sabah, Malaysia

Abstract

The Orthoptera from the vast island of Borneo is still understudied in certain regions, including parts of the renown Mount Kinabalu in Ranau, Sabah. In October 2023, orthopteran specimens from Marai Parai and Nunuk were collected. In total, 32 species were recorded, representing eight of the 16 monophyletic orthopteran superfamilies. There are at least three species potentially new to science but are unable to be determined in this paper due to lack of material for comparisons. Nevertheless, we believe that the species list provided here is only preliminary.
